How to change the login password in the Rockspace ac2100 Wifi extender?

The login password is one of the vital credentials required to interact to the re.rockspace.local interface. Users are suggested to change the default admin password during or after the setup process to keep it away from unwanted entries. The default login password is required during the configuration of the Rockspace Wifi range extender. Only those users who know the login password can enter the interface of the range extender and can bring change in the configurations of it.

Steps to change the login password in the Rockspace ac2100 Wifi extender

  1. Launch a browser in the computer or mobile device connected to the range extender’s network.
  2. Type re.rockspace.local in the address bar and hit enter.
  3. If you encounter any error type the default IP address as the URL of the browser.
  4. The default IP address of the Rockspace.local range extender is 192.168.0.254
  5. Click Enter and the default Rockspace.local login window appears.
  6. Type “admin” in the username field and enter the password you typed earlier during the login process.

 

  1. If you didn’t changed the login password yet type “admin” as the default credentials in the password field.
  2. Both the username and password fields are case-sensitive.
  3. Click login and the re.rockspace.local menu Dashboard appears on the screen.
  4. From the main navigation panel of the re.rockspace.local interface, go to the Administration tab then click Management.
  5. Now click the Password settings tab and the Password settings page appears.
  6. Scroll down the settings page and enter the desired password you want to set for the range extender in the Password field
  7. Follow the requirements required for changing the login password. A password should be above 8 characters and must be less than 32 characters.
  8. You need to retype the password in the Confirm password field.
  9. Convey the login password only to trusted users.
  10. Once the configuration is done, click Save to apply the settings you made
  11. The admin password of the Rockspace extender gets successfully changed.

Note: The admin password that a user assigned should be different from the Wifi password of the extender’s network. You must share the login password only with trusted users. Make sure you fulfill all the requirements while assigning the password. An ideal password must contain a number, an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, and a special keyword.

A user unable to login to the Rockspace range extender interface

There are several occasions in which a user fails in accessing the re.rockspace.local interface. Once the login process gets done you can easily interact with the features and settings of the Rockspace range extender. Make sure you type the correct login credentials in the provided field of the Rockspace login window.

Follow the below steps to resolve the Rockspace login issue

  1. Make sure that you are connected to the correct range extender. If you are connected to the wrong wifi signals, disconnect the Wifi, reboot the computer, and reconnect to the Rockspace extender.
  2. You need to make sure that the domain name you entered in the address bar must be correct. The default domain name required to connect to the Rockspace interface is re.rockspace.local.
  3. Type 192.168.0.25 in the address bar, If you want to use the IP address to interact with the default web management window.
  4. A user has to be careful while typing numbers or a domain name in the address bar of the browser.
  5. Close the current browser and launch the browser again to perform the login process.
  6. If you still face the issue, clear the history and cache of the browser using the settings tab of it.
  7.  Reboot the range extender and try the login process again.
  8. If all the above methods fail, restore the factory default settings into the range extender and perform the login process again.
  9. The reset process reverts the default settings into the range extender.. You need to reconfigure your range extender once the reset process is done.
  10. Make sure the extender is connected to the router because the source of the Internet is the router. When you are sure of the Internet connection then login to the re.rockspace.local interface of the router.
  11. Ensure that the router connected to the Rockspace extender does have a secure Wifi connection.
  12. You need to make sure that you are typing the correct login username and password in the respective fields. The default username is “admin” and you can leave the password field blank as the default password.
  13. The password field of the Rockspace login window is case-sensitive. Make sure you hold the shiftkey before typing an uppercase letter and release it before typing a lowercase letter.
